On Saturday, March 17, our own Etta Alexander was nominated “Citizen of the Year” by the Lions Club International of Venice and Marina Del Rey.

This award is a Community Recognition Program to honor people in the southern L.A. area for their work and volunteerism to improve services and to help others. A book with the 22 persons service history is published along with a photo of the “Citizen”.

Every March a “Crystal Star” is given to each honoree at a dinner and ceremony hosted by Lions Club members and family. This year’s celebration took place in the ballroom of the Marriot Renaissance Montura Hotel, just South of Marina Del Rey. More than 400 were in attendance and Etta said it was a lot of fun!
