One of the first steps in calling a new pastor is the forming of a
Mission Exploration Team, or MET. This is a required step by the Synod, in order to identify the needs of
the congregation and community, and set up mission goals for a new pastor.
The St. Andrew's MET consists of five members of the congregation, a member of the Synod’s Transformational Ministry Task Force, and a member of a neighboring congregation. St. Andrew’s MET consists of:
Steve Goff - the MET leader
Caroll Maas Audrey O’Donnell
Tope Ogunyankin, and
Haydee Ordonez-Chavis.
Pastor George Tan, Bishop Nelson’s assistant, met with them on October 4, to explain their goals and purpose. The MET will meet another four times to identify new mission opportunities, which they will share with the congregation.
